Sparano + Mooney Architecture has been selected as a finalist by the Kimball Art Center to participate in the second stage of an international design competition for a new 35,000 SF arts facility located in Park City, Utah.

Anne Mooney is giving a lecture and tour of the firm’s recently completed Saint Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in Utah where she presented the firm's latest worship project.  The project will have its official public opening and dedication on May 1st.

Sparano + Mooney Architecture‘s modern residential design in Utah is featured in a new publication by Rizzoli, Small Eco Houses Living Green in Style.  The contemporary design for the Canyon house was presented on a 10-page spread highlighting the sustainable design, green materials and energy-efficient features of the house.

John Sparano was invited to chair the annual Santa Fe Design Awards jury in New Mexico.  The Design Excellence and Holiday Gala event took place in the historic Masonic Temple.  Sparano + Mooney Architecture has recently been awarded a commission for a new contemporary artist residence located in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

In recognition of excellence in residential architectural design, Sparano + Mooney Architecture was presented with a western regional American Institute of Architecture merit award for the modern house design of the Emigration Canyon Residence.

Sparano + Mooney Architecture took the Sustainability Stage for the Dwell on Design conference at the Los Angeles Convention Center in June.  Dwell on Design is the West Coast's largest modern design event and highlighted the "method and mindsets" of the firm's principals, Anne Mooney and John Sparano, and their commitment to working green.

Loft Publications in Spain is including Sparano + Mooney Architecture's green home designs in their new book featuring sustainable residential architecture.

Sparano + Mooney Architecture's modern house design for the Emigration Canyon Residence is featured in a new book by Michelle Galindo, entitled Masterpieces: Chalet Architecture + Design.

John Sparano, AIA, attended the 2010 American Institute of Architects Grassroots Leadership and Legislative Conference in Washington D.C. where he visited Capitol Hill and visited with legislators, strengthening the relationships between Members of Congress and the architectural profession.

Park City Television News Director and Host, Ori Hoffer interviewed John Sparano and Anne Mooney and showcased their recently completed Emigration Canyon Residence which was awarded the first LEED-H Silver certification in the state.

Sparano + Mooney Architecture was awarded the Utah Chapter of the American Institute of Architects' Design Merit Award for the Saint Joseph the Worker Church project.

Sparano + Mooney Architecture was given a commendation award from the County of Los Angeles for the George W. Carver Park Pool, Mona Park Pool and Bathhouse and Campanella Park Pool and Bathhouse designs in recognition of dedicated service to the affairs of the community and for the civic pride demonstrated by numerous contributions for the benefit of the citizens of Los Angeles County.
