CENTRAL NINTH MIXED-USE DEVELOPMENT

This urban project was designed to enhance the vibrancy of the Central Ninth urban neighborhood in Salt Lake City, and contribute to the future development of this district as it emerges as one of the most desirable areas in which to live and work in the city. The design proposed a mixed-use project incorporating multi-family housing, retail, and restaurant space, with one entire façade dedicated as a public art element that links directly to outdoor dining and public gathering areas. Another internal courtyard was designed to offer a secure, flexible outdoor and event space for use by the residents. It provides an active open green zone between buildings with native landscaping and access to daylight for residents and visitors. This courtyard connects directly to the residential flex space and patio, complete with a kitchen, seating area, and a gas fireplace.
