Financial Controller (Full-Time):
Sparano + Mooney Architecture is hiring an experienced, motivated, creative and dedicated Financial Controller to join our Salt Lake City, Utah team. As the Controller, you will bring professionalism, integrity, financial rigor and a collaborative approach to the position, and will be a vital part of our leadership team. You will work closely with our firm’s Partners to guide our financial strategy, support our project teams, clients and consultants, and evolve our best practices in accounting and finance. This role involves both big-picture financial strategy and hands-on accounting/bookkeeping work.

Reporting to the firm’s Partners, the responsibilities of this position include:
Providing fiscal leadership, vision and guidance for the firm’s Partners and staff. You will lead the financial aspects of the office and be an integral part of the leadership team.
Maintaining and development of fiscal control systems that respond to the evolving needs of our projects, our clients and the firm’s business operations.
Payroll and benefits, project accounting processes, billing activities, accounts receivable, collections and accounts payable.
Accurate and timely financial reporting as well as budgeting and other financial forecasting needs of the firm.
Maintaining effective internal controls and oversight of the firm’s treasury, tax, accounting, fixed assets, employee onboarding and benefit programs (HR), insurance policies and ownership transition processes.
Maintaining compliance with all applicable federal, state and local laws and tax filings.
Qualifications
You hold a Bachelor’s degree.
An Accounting degree is desirable, as is a demonstrated background in business administration, finance and/or an MBA degree.
You have a minimum of 5+ years of full-time work experience in financial leadership roles with a preference for experience in architecture or engineering or a similar professional-services environment.
You have a proven track record of multi-tasking and meeting deadlines.
You communicate effectively in writing and speech, with a talent for simplifying complex technical details.
You have advanced experience working with QuickBooks and Excel.
You are able to think strategically and are willing to design, iterate, and refine accounting and financial tasks to best suit the evolving needs of our practice.
You bring a positive attitude and are reliable, trustworthy, dedicated, detail-oriented and highly organized.
This position will suit a detail-oriented, focused individual who is highly motivated and proactive. The ability to work as part of a team as well as individually in a fast-paced creative studio environment is a must. Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills are essential, as the candidate will need to liaise with clients, suppliers, HR professionals and employees regularly, and will also need to coordinate information with the outside CPA when required.

Architectural Draftsperson/Designer (Full-Time):

Qualified candidates will have at least an Associates degree in an architecture-related field and a minimum of 2 years full-time work experience in the preparation and production of construction documents and construction detailing in REVIT on well-designed architectural projects.
REVIT proficiency and strong design, technical and communication (visual, spoken and written) skills are required. Knowledge of code requirements, specifications and cost estimating is desirable. Individuals must be detail-oriented, well-organized, and capable of production through all phases of a project including preparation and coordination of construction documents. Construction administration experience is desirable.

REVIT proficiency and excellent design, technical and communication (visual, spoken and written) skills are required. Managing projects in design and construction administration for municipal projects is required for the Los Angeles position. Knowledge of code requirements, specifications and cost estimating is desirable. Individuals must be detail oriented, well organized, and capable of design and coordination through all phases of a project including complete preparation of construction documents and consultant team coordination. Experience in Construction Administration and Project Management on complex projects is essential.
