DAN GASSER, AIA
ROLE | Associate
EDUCATION | University of California, Berkley (MArch)
HOME TOWN | Winchester, Virginia
Dan earned his graduate degree in architecture from the University of California, Berkeley, and enjoys, above all else, the complexity of architecture; trying to untangle the knot of beauty, programmatic requirements, building performance and constructability.
With both local and international experience, Dan has worked on a wide range of building types and project scales over his career, from small, single-family residential projects to large, world-class performing arts complexes. He has the unique ability to leverage software and building technologies into the production of these carefully-considered designs. Remaining deeply vested in each of his projects from start to finish, Dan seeks to carry client goals and needs from a project’s initial programming phases through to the construction detailing. His expertise and interest in building envelope performance and construction technologies allows for this nuanced approach to design, resulting in well-crafted buildings that enrich communities. Dan is a licensed architect in Utah.
Dan maintains that minivans are more useful than most trucks and sport utility vehicles built after 2010 and has successfully convinced more than one person to agree with him; he has also been known to spend entire summer afternoons scaling large boulders in the forest, leaving encrusted dirt and moss in the wake of his recreational pursuits.
