Located in downtown Salt Lake City, Utah, this 16,000 SF tenant improvement project transforms an existing commercial building into a vibrant home for the Gifted Music School, a non-profit music institution dedicated to comprehensive musical education from early childhood through high school.

The project was designed to support the school’s mission of personalized instruction and conservatory-level training for serious young musicians, while accommodating its world-class faculty and diverse program offerings.

The improvements focused on reimagining former general classrooms as specialized learning environments tailored to music education. New performance spaces provide venues for recitals and group instruction, while medium-sized classrooms support ensemble work and academic learning. Multiple small and medium practice rooms were carefully designed with acoustic isolation to allow for focused individual instruction and uninterrupted practice.

A centrally-located break room serves students, teachers and parents, offering a comfortable place to gather during teaching hours. Together, the tenant improvements create a flexible, acoustically-refined and welcoming environment that supports both the educational and community-focused goals of the institution.
