This master planning effort served as a catalyst for economic, cultural, and community development for Salt Lake City, County and beyond. It presented an extraordinary opportunity to proclaim the region as one of the nation’s key cultural centers. City and County staff, in partnership with our design team and additional specialized consultants, met with stakeholders and members of the public, extensively reviewed market data, and researched successful national and international precedents for urban core revitalization as part of this extensive master planning process.

The result is a comprehensive plan that establishes ambitious goals set by and for our community. It includes strategies for economic development and artistic/social diversity through placemaking, programming, and brand promotion. The plan was unanimously adopted and many portions of it have been successfully implemented.
