Sparano + Mooney Architecture collaborated with the Saint Francis of Assisi Building Committee to help create a vision for a new church for the parish that would reflect the liturgical principles of Vatican II through a timeless architectural expression. The 23,000 square-foot modern space was designed with seating to accommodate 1,000 worshipers and a Day Chapel for everyday use that accommodates 50 parishioners. The large gathering space includes entry points at two sides, connecting to the main processional paths from the parking areas. Seating for the church is radial in plan and is set on a slight slope to allow for all patrons to have full view of the altar area.
