MARK JAMES
ROLE | Designer
EDUCATION | University of Utah (MArch)
HOME TOWN | Sandy, Utah
Mark earned his Master of Architecture from the University of Utah and has worked with Sparano + Mooney Architecture since 2018. He considers architecture as a highly-collaborative artform built on moments and experiences – it is the opportunity to engage with one’s perception of time, place and event. What excites him about design is that it is a frequently-experienced form of storytelling, and he likes to believe he can effectively express themes or concepts through various visual tools. Through physical models, renderings, sketches and animations (digitally and by hand), Mark likes to shape a narrative in order to create experiences and represent design concepts.
He is pursuing licensure in Utah, and in the meantime, plays as much golf as humanly possible and finds inspiration in classic films such as Casablanca or any celluloid starring Audrey Hepburn.
