ROLE | Partner + Principal
EDUCATION | University of Utah (MArch)
HOME TOWN | Phoenix, Arizona

Since joining Sparano + Mooney Architecture in 2014, Nate has played a key role contributing to the practice at all levels from conceptual design work to technical drawing production and construction administration on multiple award-winning projects. He was elevated to Principal Architect in 2022 and his role has expanded to include all aspects of firm leadership.

Following his undergraduate architectural studies, Nate earned his Master of Architecture from the University of Utah. He enjoys the rigor that is demanded by the profession and focuses on in-depth research and analysis during the early stages of design. With an appreciation for and expertise in both design process and the technical nature of the profession, Nate has contributed to the firm across multiple typologies including Performing Arts Venues and Community Centers as well as Residential, Institutional and Museum projects. Nate appreciates what architecture contributes to the culture of the American West.

Nate is an avid reader of Science Fiction novels – and space sci-fi in particular – and he closely follows Hugo Award winners every year. Growing up stomping around the deserts of Arizona, Nate enjoys the seasons but tolerates the cold winters of Utah.
